A
portrait should capture your pet's unique personality, which
is not always evident
in a photograph. I can work with your photos to create a portrait
that looks like the
pet you know as your best friend. Please browse through these

Notes: |
I
felt that the background in the photo for this apricot
poodle was too harsh. I had met Sparky several times
and knew that he was cute and very fluffy. I created
a more subtle background to compliment the soft look
of the dog. |

I
really enjoyed painting these three dachshunds,
Scooter, Penny and Lacey. They all had a unique
personality that was apparent in their eyes. The
client worked at the veterinary office, which
takes care of my dogs, so that made it even more
special. |

I was so pleasedas well as amazed. Such
a wonderful likeness of her that we will treasure forever." |

Even
though I had never met these dogs, Peanut, Abigail and
Bailey, I could tell from the photos sent to me by the
client that they were fun-loving, curious, responsive
dogs. That is what I wanted to capture in the portrait. |

Notes: |
Norman
is a friendly dog with very expressive eyes. When I
met Norman, I noticed that he seemed to have a "regalness"
about him. In painting his portrait, I wanted to capture
both the expression in his eyes and his dignified demeanor. |

These
two dogs, Wiggles, the Shih Tzu, and Sadie, the Welsh
Corgi, were commissioned by a client as Christmas gifts
for her daughters whom the dogs belonged to. |

From
the Client: "Even though Brenda had only met Cooper
through photos, she not only captured his true look
but, most importantly, his spirit..." |

This
client wanted a portrait of her husband's bunnies to
give to him on Valentine's Day. Because it was for a
Valentine gift, I wanted to make sure that it was warm
and fuzzy.
From the
client: "Dave loved the bunnies portrait that you did.
He
tried to
pet Aphy because she looked so real to him." |

This
portrait was commissioned by a client for her daughter
Lisa. Lisa had these comments about Jacco:
FCaptain
Max Von Stephanitz, founder of the German Shepherd breed,
said, "...In fact, I cannot remember a Shepherd
dog that was not in love with children. They are always
conscious of their power and duty to protect them."
That was Jacco. Ever in love with people in general
and our family in particular. |

From
the client: I wanted a portrait of our dogs for
a gift to my husband for his birthday. My husband
loved the portrait of our "kids" (as
we call them) and insisted that we hang it over
the fireplace. We get to enjoy seeing it every
day. |

Artist's
Notes:
This client wanted a portrait of her beloved dog Brindy
who had passed away. The precise details were unclear
in the photos, so I had to do research on the breed.
I wanted to make sure I accurately represented the breed
as well as capture "her great dane". Her tearful response
on seeing her portrait affirmed that I had captured
her dog. |

Artist's
Notes:
This portrait was fun to do! I have known Rocky since
he was a puppy. What I really wanted to capture was
the cute little way he cocks his head when you talk
to him.
From the
client - "Whenever I
look at the
portrait, it makes my
heart smile." |
